After Vaughan Williams
listening, drawing, abstracted score and responseAfter Vaughan Williams is part of my work on the collaborative residency Conversations With Landscapes at Spurn Point on the East Yorkshire Coast. Ralph Vaughan Williams was an English composer who wrote a piece about Spurn Point as part of Six English Folk Songs. Whilst listening to this piece I drew what the music sounded like to me on to a hand drawn musical score. This has then been used to invite artists and musicians to respond to and play this score. All their different sonic approaches and finished pieces will culminate in a curated recorded product in 2019.
I am still keen to invite more participants to this project so please do contact me at hello@louhazelwood.com for more information.
